What were the reasons of Odoo choice?

B GROUP, which comprises five companies engaged in the metal construction and processing industry, selected Odoo because of its advanced multicompany feature. It was critical for B GROUP’s operations to have their company data managed and transactions processed within a single ecosystem. In addition, Odoo’s extensive suite of applications flexibly allowed meeting their unique requirements in manufacturing and accounting, making it a prime solution for their business.

Multi-Company Operations: All five companies within the B GROUP take advantage of Odoo’s multicompany feature and intercompany transactions where one company sells and another buys from a different company are a smooth experience.

Unique Manufacturing Process: The B GROUP operates differently from standard manufacturers, since they do not work with fixed product forms or dimensions. Instead, their production is measured in tons of materials, such as reinforcement steel, which makes allocating indirect costs more complex.

Features Implemented in Odoo:

1. Multicompany Integration:

  • Streamlined multi company data exchange and transaction management for the five companies.
  • All intercompany transactions, including purchasing and selling processes, were automated.

2. Adjustments In Sales and Purchase Apps: Changes implemented in Odoo applications which are specific to B GROUP’s defined processes. The company is now able to track and manage all their sales and purchases in Odoo.

3. Non-Specialized Manufacturing Setup:

  • Modification of the manufacturing process to allow for production by tonnage without having product shapes and sizes predefined.
    Automated Distribution of Overheads For Accuracy In Production Costs Accounting.

4. Full Integration Of The Accounting System:

  • All accounting processes were done up to meet the Lithuanian regulations that provided compliance across all entities.
  • Setting up specified financial functionalities.

5. Data-Driven Decision Making: The group was equipped with new insight regarding what-based decision making. The custom BI tools and reporting provided more advanced data analytics.
