What were the reasons of Odoo choice?

As a non-governmental organization that aims to reduce food waste and help those in need, “Maisto bankas” faced significant operational challenges. Collecting and distributing more than 6,000 tons of food annually required a well-structured system. The organization was looking for a solution to effectively track food aid, coordinate logistics, and reduce administrative workload for staff and volunteers. Odoo’s flexibility and ability to customize the system to its unique needs were a perfect fit for the tasks set by “Maisto bankas”.

In 2020, “Maisto bankas” turned to “Versada” for help in solving these challenges. Understanding the importance of the organization’s activities, our team decided to contribute to the project as a partial pro bono initiative. Since then, our partnership has continued and we are proud to support their meaningful work with smart technological solutions.

Interesting Information on the Implementation and Project.

Building this system was a challenging task as Maisto Bankas needed a highly customized solution built from the ground up. The project involved integrating multiple data points, automating the food collection process, and ensuring seamless communication between partners, charities, and volunteers. Despite these challenges, we successfully delivered a custom Odoo solution that transformed their operations and made food distribution more efficient.

By digitizing some of the processes, fewer employees are needed to perform administrative tasks, allowing more focus to be placed on helping those in need. Volunteers now have a structured system that streamlines their work, makes management easier, and reduces the need for additional administrative staff.

Our journey with the Maisto bankas continues, and we are committed to continuing to improve and support their system, thus contributing to the noble mission of the organization.

  • Frontend: Partner organizations can log in, review pickup schedules, and report donations with ease.

3. Personalized Portal for Partner Organizations: A custom-built portal allows partner organizations to log in, report collected food quantities, and review pick-ups, ensuring a more organized and efficient distribution process.

  • Integrated calendar for scheduling collection.
  • Forms to record collected food donations and their types.

4. Collection Point Management: Maisto Bankas can track food donations from major retailers like Maxima LT and IKI Lietuva, plan the collection for organizations, and maintain a clear overview of the entire supply chain.

  • Real-time visibility of donation points, including contributions from supermarkets.
  • Clear tracking of which organizations collected food, when and what amount per type was collected.
