In Central Europe, Martes Specure International focuses on services related to spectrum auctions, high-speed Internet monitoring solutions. In Slovakia, the company mainly develops, implements and provides software solutions for logistics and telecommunications service providers.

Martes Specure International’s flagship product is Specure NetTest, an open source Internet quality measurement platform.

What were the reasons of Odoo choice?

Within the company, managers identified several areas where they felt the need to have a robust and flexible system to support our business. This mostly affected accounting and warehouse management. We wanted to have a unified, integrated system that would connect our offices in Slovakia and Austria. Also, we wanted a secure and reliable system that contained all important business data and information for management with convenient, unencumbered access for our employees.

“We chose between several proprietary systems and also looked at several open source systems, including Odoo. After the analysis, we decided to choose Odoo mainly because of the ability to easily and independently customize the system. In other business management systems, it would have required huge budgets and efforts if we wanted to make individual changes. The initial costs were also very favorable.”

In our head office in Slovakia, there are 40% of users who use at least one of the main modules in the Odoo system, compared to the old system, where the number was only about 10%. This increases efficiency and transparency of processes, as employees have access to all the basic information they need in real time. The low usage of the legacy system was due to the inflexibility of the legacy system in adapting our individual processes and the potential increase in licensing costs.

Features Implemented in Odoo:

The implemented Odoo system has a very wide range of functionality, but here are the most important parts that have been implemented in order to fulfill the vision of the digitalization of the Martes Specure specification processes:

1. A procurement management system that allows you to track costs and assign them to the appropriate cost center;

2. Warehouse management and inventory modules for detailed tracking of large quantities of goods and parts;

3. Adaptation of human resources and selection modules to the company’s processes, for the efficiency of the work of the human resources department. Also, the Leaves module has been added to help you track vacations, sick days, etc.;

4. Maintenance module for inventory, tracking and management of available equipment;

5. Production and repair modules have been responsibly designed according to existing company processes and implemented for comprehensive production tracking. Also, the company has a warranty service that accepts and repairs warranty products. The solutions implemented in the Odoo environment gave the company the opportunity to track and manage a large amount of details, see repair histories, and track at what stage certain details were used. Also, exchange information, analyze processes in terms of time and best use;

6. Fleet module to track travel expenses.

Cooperation with the Versada team lived up to our expectations. Together, we developed a simple yet effective process for solving problems and meeting all of our requirements. We successfully use the project management system offered by Versada, where we describe the requirements, we can see the progress of the programmers, and supplement the requirements if something changes. This saves a lot of time and does not complicate communication, we always know where we are in the implementation process.
