What were the reasons of Odoo choice?

Previously, the company was using Google Sheets, with minimal tracking of processes and various metrics. The need for a business system emerged very quickly and clearly when the company started to grow, more processes appeared, and insights into business results were needed more often and in more detail.

Odoo was chosen by the customer for its convenience and ease of use, adaptability to small businesses and diverse, changing processes. Also, a big plus, all the company’s activities can be combined into one system, everything is visible in one place, which greatly facilitates everyday business operations.

After implementing the Odoo business management system, we have noticed a lot of positive changes:

We refined pricing, abandoned unprofitable products, and increased the company’s profitability.
Order has prevailed in the warehouse, there has been a significant decrease in situations where goods are missing, and the speed of ordering goods has increased.
Improved communication within the company reduced the amount of errors. We have noticed that problem solving has accelerated, and the problems themselves, which were present before the system was implemented, have decreased.
Employees have become much more independent, they feel more free, because the work and processes are clearly conveyed in the system. The stress level has decreased, every employee clearly knows what to do when the shift starts.

Features Implemented in Odoo:

1. An integration with PrestaShop was done, allowing them to combine their software with Odoo ERP. The export of products and sales information to Odoo ERP has been completed. By combining these two softwares, the company saved additional costs and can comfortably use both ERP and e-commerce. commercial platforms, track warehouse balances and see statistics.

2. Also, according to the expressed need, a configurator was created, which allows to complete parts and products. A lot of nuances and attributes were included in its development in order to simplify the ordering process for suppliers and, in the future, for customers themselves.

3. Metalurga runs many different projects at the same time and wants to solve the problems that arise in the execution process. The project management application was modified according to their individual needs:

– Ability to track how much time is needed to complete a task at a certain stage of project implementation;
-Tasks are linked to the portal so that suppliers have the opportunity to see information and changing stages;
– Each task is created with the possibility of detailed planning;
– Improved tracking of tasks and different stages, provided an opportunity to better distribute them among employees.

4. Custom development was done for detailed tracking of warehouse operations, quantity and management of goods and components. Automated process flow, from order to production and delivery.

5. After nearly 5 years of successfully using the system, migration to the latest version of Odoo was done to take full advantage of the system.
